Need a good Lawyer?

May 8, 2008

Several months ago our long time friend Timothy Daniels, who is an actor from Los Angeles contacted us to shoot his headshots, to which we happily agreed. We set out through downtown San Diego to capture many of its interesting backdrops.

As we were shooting I spotted a white Lamborghini park in front of an office building just off of Ash St. The exotic vehicle was perfect for the shoot. We simply asked the owner of the car if we could snap a few photos of our actor near the car. He was happy to oblige. The owner of the Lamborghini introduced himself as Ashkan “King” Aminpour. After exchanging our contact information we thanked him and continued on our way. The photos looked fantastic!

Fast forward to a few days ago. As you may have read in the previous blog, we were shooting Headshots and Zed Cards for our new clients Kathy and Rick Marx who just so happened to be long time friends of the Aminpour brothers and invited us to photograph Rick with Aurash “Auri” Amipour’s new Aston Martin.

One often hears of the negative stereotypes that surround lawyers but in the case of the Aminpours that notion is quickly erased. With their bright smiles and infinite hospitality we immediately felt welcomed. We even had the pleasure of meeting their mother. Whom, I’m told decorated their impressive office. WOW! What an office! Bright red carpeting and walls, Egyptian décor, intricate wood work and the oh so important ping-pong table. The guys new how to work in style!

Needless to say we had a blast shooting Rick with the Aston Martin. As luck may have it The Law Offices of Aminpour and Associates needed to update their advertisement photos for the Iranian yellow pages. Due to an approaching deadline we scheduled a shoot for Auri and King the very next day at their office.

The shoot went great! It’s such a pleasure to work with people who love to laugh as much as the Aminpours. We look forward to working with them again.

San Diego Modeling Talent Pool Grows a Little More

May 1, 2008

We had the pleasure of shooting Kathy and Rick Marx the other day. Kathy & Rick work in Real Estate.  After researching several San Diego photographers Kathy contacted us to shoot her Head Shots and Comp Card. Kathy also informed us she wanted to seek representation with a San Diego Talent Agent. Having worked closely with union franchised talent agencies in San Diego, we were able to go over different types of agencies and what they have to offer. We also discussed how to submit her Headshots and Comp Card to the top San Diego Talent Agents.

The day of her shoot Kathy was accompanied by Rick to help with wardrobe and perhaps be featured in one of the shots. Together, Rick and Kathy had a great look. Ww thought, why not shoot them both? And that’s just what we did. After finishing Kathy’s shoot and we scheduled them both to come back a week later, but this time to shoot Rick.

You never know whom you’re going to run into. It just so happens, as were photographing Rick and Kathy downtown near the train station a gentleman had approached and introduced himself a part of a marketing team for the San Diego Transit System. He saw us on our shoot when he realized Rick and Kathy had the exact look they needed for an ad! Serendipitous? We were loosing our sunlight, so we wasted little time in heading to the train station for our improvised ad shoot. The photos turned our great! Our first shoot within a shoot.

The Duo were Naturals! This husband and wife team definitely has a future in modeling.

Lastly, Rick had some close friends who had an attorney’s office near our downtown shoot location. He had mentioned his friend had recently purchased a brand new Aston Martin DB9. Yes! The same car James Bond drove in Casino Royale!

I’m not sure which Bond Rick looks the most like…maybe Roger Moore?

Small world. It turns out Rick and Kathy’s friends are Auri and King Aminopour of The Law offices of Aminpour and Associates. This wasn’t our first time meeting King Aminpour…To be Continued.
